The Orange County Kula offers Anusara workshops, immersions, and teacher trainings to give students and teachers the opportunity to deepen and refine their practice and teaching of Anusara yoga®. All workshops, immersions, and teacher trainings are taught by Anusara-certified teachers. As a result, all training hours count towards Anusara teaching certification. Workshops, immersions, and teacher trainings are different in their extent and focus. Below is a brief definition for each.
Workshops – typically occur over a single day or weekend and focus on introducing Anusara yoga philosophy and specific principles of alignment to interested students and/or teachers. Workshops offer a wonderful introduction to Anusara yoga and offer new insights for experienced yoga students and teachers.
Immersions – provide an opportunity for serious yoga students to deepen their practice of Anusara yoga. An immersion may include as many as 28 to 108 training hours and may occur over several months. Anusara immersions explore both the philosophical foundations of this unique hatha yoga system and details of the Universal Principles of Alignment™. Immersions are intended as a precursor to teacher trainings, in that they help develop a strong foundation for the yogin prior to participating in an Anusara teacher training.
Teacher Trainings – focus on the science and art of teaching Anusara yoga. A strong understanding of Anusara philosophy and alignment principles, acquired through participation in numerous workshops and immersions, is assumed and required. Among other key teaching concepts, teacher trainings focus on learning to skillfully blend effective alignment instructions within the context of a heart-oriented theme, connecting each student to their Divine beauty and innate goodness.
